Disability Advocacy Mentoring

Author: My Voice My Choice, Leonard Cheshire

Disability Advocacy Mentoring Programme with Leonard Cheshire’s Campaigns Supports Officer, Joshua Reeves.

Gain personalised mentoring, access to training, and practical tools to lead impactful campaigns.

Who?

The mentoring programme is for anyone over the age of 16 who has a campaign in mind and wants help to get started, plan next steps, network with people in power and generally be supported to impact positive change for disabled people. Even if you don’t have a specific topic in mind, if you have that fire in your belly to improve the lives of disabled people in Wales, then this is for you!

What?

Fortnightly meetings with Josh, supported by Goal 17 professional mentoring service. Here you will set the aims of you campaign, work through it together and even be introduced/connected to influential people who can help to spread your message. There may also be access to other training to increase your skills and confidence in campaigning.

When?

Starting as soon as possible and continuing until the end of the programme in November.

Where?

In person if Cardiff-based, or online if preferred or elsewhere in Wales. We can support with travel and access needs. Might even throw in the occasional cuppa too!

Why?

Why not? It’s a great opportunity to connect with an experienced campaigner and share his skills, expertise and contacts! Sometimes you just need that little push to get started and this is it!

How?

Got this far and still interested? Great! Fill out this quick form and Josh will get back to you asap: Mentoring application form

However, we don’t want the application process to be a barrier, so share your interest with us however works for you e.g. by video, email or arranging a chat-just email Josh at Joshua.Reeves@leonardcheshire.org
