Cymru Anabl Workshops - National Library of Wales

Cymru Anabl (‘Disabled Wales’) is a year-long project focused on improving the accessibility of the National Library of Wales Screen and Sound Archive film and video collections, as well as improving the representation of disabled and Deaf filmmakers in them.

Cymru Anabl is a National Library of Wales Screen and Sound Archive project in partnership with DAC, TAPE and Hijinx, with support from BFI National Lottery funds.

Do you identify as disabled or Deaf? Are you interested in film, history and archives? Are you interested in matters of representation and accessibility?

If yes, join staff from the National Library of Wales Screen and Sound Archive for an interactive workshop where you can:

·      Watch clips from old films from Wales about disability and the Deaf community,

·      Discuss what’s important to you about representation and accessibility,

·      Have your say on what an ideal film archive would be.

The workshops will be held in English. We’re working on organising BSL interpretation for the workshops. There will be comfort breaks during the workshops and light refreshments available.
