DAC Member Gareth Churchill’s Clarion Sharing Presentation in Cardiff University Concert Hall

Over the last couple of months, thanks to ACW Creative Steps support, I’ve been embarking on a very exciting journey back to musical performance.

To achieve this I’ve been creating work with and for the clarion, an assistive, digital instrument which has come to me thanks to Paraorchestra.

Playable with as little physical function as just a person’s eye movements, in becoming a clarion player I aspire to recover some of what I lost as an oboist, when I became physically impaired myself 25 years ago.

On July 24, at 1500 I will be hosting a sharing presentation at Cardiff University Concert Hall in which I will introduce the clarion, showcase project activity and give my first clarion performance. I very much hope you may be able to join me at this exciting and potentially transformative event.
